A beach village under Hangklip, with no street lights and no hurry.
30 minutes from the estate
A scatter of houses in the fynbos at the foot of Hangklip, on a beach that runs for a couple of kilometres and is usually empty. There is nothing to do here, which is the entire point of it.
What to do there
- The beach, and the walk out towards Hangklip itself
- Lunch at one of the two or three places in the village
- Drive on to Rooi Els for the birding
Worth knowing
- Baboons come into the village. Doors and windows closed, food out of sight
- Most of the roads are gravel and unlit
