Grotto, Kleinmond, Onrus and Pringle Bay — mostly empty, all free.
10 minutes and up from the estate
There is a beach for every mood within half an hour of the estate, and none of them charges anything. Kleinmond for the long flat sand ten minutes away, Grotto in Hermanus for the Blue Flag stretch, Onrus for the tidal pool when the sea is up, and Pringle Bay when you want nobody at all.
What to do there
- Kleinmond beach and the Palmiet river mouth — the closest, ten minutes
- Grotto Beach, Hermanus — Blue Flag, and long enough to walk for an hour
- The Onrus tidal pool, which is safe swimming whatever the sea is doing
- Pringle Bay, for a beach with nobody on it
Worth knowing
- This is cold water. It is the Atlantic side and it does not warm up much
- Only some beaches have lifeguards, and only in season — ask the concierge
