The Overberg has almost no light pollution. Walk out and look up.

There is very little between this estate and the dark. Away from the hotel lights the Milky Way is visible with the naked eye for most of the year, and the Magellanic Clouds are up there with it — two galaxies you can only see from the southern hemisphere.
What to do there
- Walk out towards the lagoon side, away from the buildings, and give your eyes ten minutes
- Look for the Southern Cross, and the two Magellanic Clouds beside it
Worth knowing
- Best on a moonless night — the concierge knows when the next one is
- Take a jersey. It is colder out on the grass than it feels from the room
