The estate sits inside the Kogelberg Biosphere, which holds the densest concentration of fynbos species on earth. Paths run from an easy hour on the estate to a proper morning in the mountains behind it.

What to do there

  • Ask the concierge which paths are open and how long each takes
  • Take a photograph — the fynbos changes completely between seasons

Worth knowing

  • Proper shoes and water; there is no shade on the upper paths
  • The Kogelberg core area needs a permit — the concierge will tell you which paths do not
